I'm a late twenty something, city-dwelling, worker bee
who is willingly sacrificing some of the best years of my life in
exchange for that colored paper we so lovingly refer to as money, cash, coin,
moolah, bread, dough, ca-ching, cheese, benjamins and so on and so forth.
Sound familiar? If you're like
most working folks, it probably should. Forget the fact that you're thankful to have a job in this
dismal economy: if you're spending most of your waking hours doing something
you wouldn't otherwise be doing but for money, you and I have something in
common. But unlike those who have a "that's life" or "welcome to
reality" mentality about jobs and cash, I think that if you're going to
sacrifice your time and energy for a buck, you owe it to yourself to make
it count. If I work hard for a dollar, you can bet your ass I'm going to
make that dollar work hard for me.
The Lion$hare is a chronicle
of my travels making it count. Join me as I battle inertia,
workplace bureaucracy, fluorescent lights, and the overwhelming desire to spend
all my money on takeout food, in a fight for financial awesomeness and a more
worthy life!
